Ceat vs bkt

Evening folks,
Wanting to order a set of tyres, tyre man says that the Ceat are better than the bkt what we had on last time. Basically anyone had any ceat tyres on and think there better than the bkt. We had a set of bkt on it last time and they have done 4000 hour of mainly road work so wondering wether to have same again or try something new. Not interested in top brands as it’s only a cheap tractor so sticking with the cheaper end of tyres as it’s only use to rake, cart silage and spray so not needing a lot of grip.
We had vredstein on a different tractor and don’t think a lot to them for the money so just sticking with the cheaper brands. The bkt hasn’t had a puncture, or let us down in the 5 year they have been on but never hurts to try a new brand.

We've put bkt on everything for the last 5 year's or so but have just had 2 ceat tyres on after the tyre man said the same as to you (could be the same place) they seem to grip well but can't comment on wear as only been on since the summer.

Ours is the tanvic tyres dealer. I trust what they say but we have got on well with the bkt brand and its one of them that do you trust them or stick with what you know?

What is the price difference? If it’s very little, not a lot of point in changing if you’re happy with bkt.

Different place to us so at least it's not one opinion. To be honest we would have had bkt again but the tractor they were going on does very little and the ceat were cheaper so thought we'd give them a try.

Ceat on a tractor here maybe 1500-2000hrs seem fine to me

What you doing with the tractor? This will be pulling a dump trailer, silage trailer and rake mainly. All up hills and down in this area. Don’t want them to just disappear with the road work. There’s about 250 quid difference in price between the set.

We are all on the flat but general haulage and bits of ploughing they seem to grip well enough very little ware on them so far though

Ceat on a tractor here for2 years , happy with them, does a fair bit of road work,
Also does the feeder wagon so a lot of tight turns on the concrete and wearing ok
Had bkt on before and don't think there is much difference between them

Ceat here on one tractor been on two yrs no complaints grip well and ride good too, price was very good at the time which helped, our tyre man says there better than bkts also.

I've had a pair of CEAT 600/65R38 for 2 years end of this month.

The only negative is they shouldn't be inflated less than 0.8 Bar/12 psi.

Yes on the older bkt 65 series had a wide tread bar but afaik the newer bkt 65 series has the narrow tread same as 70 series which will wear quicker

Has anyone checked the rolling circumference of CEAT tyres compared to other brands? friend has a replacement set of 650/65r38 on his tractor, and is convinced they are much smaller in overall diameter.

I strongly suspect there’s more money in CEATs if everyone is suddenly recommending them.

Done a tractor and loader last autumn with them, seem fine, tractor rides well. Old JCB seems a lot higher with them, asked if they came with a ladder, but then the old set was a set of Grippsters that definitely qualified as slicks.

Ours were the first Ceats fitted by our tyre fitter, since he’s fitted a lot more and says he’s had no trouble, he fits a lot of loadalls with the ceat lift pro too which I hear good things about to.

about to put tyres on the Merlo, where did you source Ceat from ? Had BKT on it once and lasted half as long as Mitas ?
