Sometimes it's cheaper at B & Q if they're doing it as a loss leader. As you say best to try them all.
I will comply a list and try em all end of may when silly season has ended, june is my concreting month, recently put my name on a nice tractor drawn mixer so a artic load will give it a work out in june.

Where would i could a good deal on an artic load of Portland cement in 20kg bags ?

Which begs the question .... why :scratchhead:

24 tonnes cement, let say at around 5 or 6-1, sounds like a big little project!!!

There's a lot of folks hilly has on his list to fit with concrete slippers before making them sleep with the fishes :ROFLMAO:

Try BHC in Carnwath. They buy it by the arctic load both bagged and in bulk (quins is the usual brand).

Price isnt everything ,there are some cement that conrain a lot more ash than others ,i avoid quinn, dragon and castle, they just are notvas good,i would rather pay 30 p per bag extra for better quaility

Just for my own understanding, what do you call better quality. I always understood ash was added to cement to give it more strength. We had some concrete At work which didn’t wear well with lorry’s turning, and I was told there wasn’t enough ash in the cement. Apparently levels had been cut as there are less coal fired power stations, meaning less ash available
