anyone had any issues with the American made central boiler, we have been asked to look at one that has a split in the burn chamber letting water in from the jacket, it has been professionally welded but has gone again,

We have E-classic2400 installed June 15. Came back from holiday a month ago (boiler shut down) to find a lot of water in reaction chamber and leak in firebox.
Refilled water jacket fired up and not lost any water since, fingers crossed. Lot of bad reviews on american forums

I have been reading on the American boiler forums and they have been having issues also, the warranty appears to be non existent, one of the boilers had the complete section cut out and he says it was 1/8" plate that was used in this particular section of the boiler, the part that was worn was localized to an area the size of your palm but he cut out a longer strip and he says it was 1/8" plate. he replaced it with 5/16" plate.

That would a condensation build up i would have thought. When ours was off for the summer and we fired back up had a fair bit of water in the ashbox untill it got up to temp.

We have also had a leak on ours. it was located around where the americans can fit a gas igniter (at the back of the firebox has a piece of metal that fits on a couple of hooks). this happened in the first 6 months and is still grand 5 years on.

Boiler running all summer, topping up with significant quantities of water every 10 days or so plus odd bit of inhibitor. Bunged in 1litre of sentinel leak sealer £20 on 8th August 100% since. Will keep folks posted.
