So "waste"....Ah! But fert now is the by product?
We will have to start charging them to take the waste. More rubbish paperwork for teh EA to monitor
So "waste"....Ah! But fert now is the by product?
I imagine Chinese farmers are not being starved of cheap NitrogenYes, low input, but not no input, those big air carts ain’t just full of seed, they hold phos and urea. Every farmer around the world will be doing the same calculations as you and I and many will be reaching the same conclusion.
These fertiliser prices could affect every single crop grown to a lesser or greater degree, from wheat to corn, from sunflower to rice.
Throw in a weather event and we’re off to the races.
Great story that, they don't even tell us what crop they're on about.Fert price hike pushes optimum nitrogen rates to 160kg/ha - Farmers Weekly
With the recent hikes in fertiliser prices, which now reach as high as £465/t for ammonium nitrate (as of 27 September), farmers are being temporarilywww.fwi.co.uk
So the new optimum rate for N is 160kg/ha given its current price. Just under the NVZ limit, you've got to admit doing it that way is a lot less paperwork for farmers rather than having a UK wide NVZ
I'm sure CF didn't complain too much at having to double their prices for AN and become CO2 producers with a sideline in fertilizer. The margin is going to be huge once the gas prices drop in a year or so!
what do you mean I'm cynical?!
And rising.Am I reading this correct, nitrogen is £680 per tonne?
Am I reading this correct, nitrogen is £680 per tonne?
Let's hope a global shortage will push the price of grain into the 21st century, where it might, just might, stay. For the last decade there seems to have been a £200 / ton glass ceiling. It'll be a difficult 12 months, but in the long term it may be worth it.
Why shouldn't landlords get a slice ?And the last time Wheat was over £200 per ton,
All the landlords wanted a slice, so much that I packed up farming.
Be careful what you wish for, !!
Why shouldn't landlords get a slice ?
Can't have it both ways. They are not to keen when it comes to a rent reduction when times are tough!
Exactly I don’t care how good it is no one needs it at this price, lower yields here we come thankfully I had a bumper growth of clover this year ha ha!!!,Am I reading this correct, nitrogen is £680 per tonne?
Cos they do feck allWhy shouldn't landlords get a slice ?
Cos they do feck all
Why will stopping using nitrogen save the planet1. how is CF going to supply those whove forward bought but not been delivered, surely they cant have only sold forward what they had in stock at the time? if they rely on future production to meet contracts, and that production cant happen, what happens to that contract?
2. to save the planet we need to stop using AN. price is the only way this is going to happen. farmers will produce less, planet better off, masses starve.
