My dealer did not have it. Has anybody seen it? Would it be any good?

Free info on Trimble site is very limited:

Version: v8.10
November 18, 2020
Users on field betas from 2020 ending in a “.3” must upgrade. Final planned release addressing field issues reported in the following system areas:
● GNSS RTX/RTK library updates
● EGNOS satellite library updates
● Application Control TUVR speed reporting with SBAS
● System runtime “Event Memory Full” issue
Note: See Release Notes for complete details.

It is not so easy to install it. Many steps required. If you have no problems with the display, take it as it is.

Installed it already. Went as usual without any problems. Moved first all my fields to USB and -> office PC. Took also a backup which saves vehicle configurations also. And then deleted all the field data from the display before installing the new fw.

After installing it I tried to browse all the menus to see if there are any changes:
"Use Beidou" is not anymore available in GNNS menus. No big deal: I think that Beidous are not used at all with RTK corrections on a CFX-750. They might be used In RTX corrections? Don't know.

X-Fill settings has now an Auto option which can be used instead of dialing in frequency and baud rate.

The old configuration files were still in the display.

jcawlay's excellent firmware matrix did not have the Release Notes. But I kind of understood from the Trimble support pages that the firmware requirements with v8.10 for Field-IQ rate&section box, master- and section switches, ez-remote and EZ-Streer have not changed from display fw version 7.80. So I figured out that was quite OK to upgrade the fw. But haven't taken the display to my sprayer tractor yet...
Please advise me if I am wrong!

I really do hope that the "Event Memory Full" issue has become better. Have had that couple times two years ago. It is a PITA to try and try again late in the evening middle of beet lifting when you are tired after a long day but want to finish the field as heavy rains are about to start pouring down and you are trying to get the damn thing working again by 1) restart the system several times 2) deleting all old coverage loggings 3) going a soft reset.... Last fall I did not log coverage at all when lifting beets.
But maybe this "Event Memory" is not about coverage loggings at all? Is it to do with the journal type of file that can be output as a "diagnostic log"-file? This can be a fairly long file. It is readable with a text editor, but the contents in it are more or less mysterious. (dates, times, gps week mumbers + milliseconds, numbers and codes more or less understandable...).

its important to do a hard reset after 8.10 update or the fix for event memory will not be fixed. you can save the display config file whit ez-steere/pilot settings saved.

I've just updated the firmware on my CFX 750 to 8.1, as above you need to do a hard reset to clear the memory, as despite deleting all the data, its still all there no matter how many times or combinations of ways you do it.

Having done it, finally I have 99.1% disc space remaining :)

The screen is much quicker to respond now, there's a few new icons etc. well worth doing IMO.

Pretty easy to do to (y)

There appears to be an issue with the Sonalert with this firmware version.
Oh I've not noticed it to be honest, in what way?

I would take Sonalert not working for being able to keep working rather than being told memory is full please delete data to continue. And after deleting data its all still there and won't work until you've turned off for about ten minutes.

No sound from it at all. Spoke to Trimble support and they confirmed there is an issue.

Yes you're right, Sonalert doesn't work, you can turn on the internal screen alarm, that works fine.

What sort of Beta testing did they do!

Mind you I had it turned off anyhow.

So much smoother and the field delete/data option seems to work correctly now.

Anyone else would release 8.1.1 patch within a week or so…..but this is agriculture!
How do they miss this stuff?

Mind you an earlier version the icons on the screen didn't correspond with the function. I think it was 'Delete Coverage' and 'Delete Field' were the wrong way around.

Could someone please give a refresher on loading fields back on? I have done the update and hard reset. I got the configs back on by moving them onto the root of the usb where it could see them. But the fields are more messy with the client/farm/field/event folder structure. The backup left the usb as root/serial no/data/client/farm/field/event, but the display says no fields available to load. I have done it in the past, after having renamed/deleted AB lines.
