I find the autotune very good, got a 560xp, no wiffy fumes which is nice
Mostly cross cutting firewood, occasional use, rarely have any timber more than 10-12 inches in diameter in all honesty, odd bits a bit larger but I tend not to bother with that.
Parts and longevity are a major consideration as it would be used infrequently but kept in our garage so never freezing or anything.
For that sort of work a small saw is fine.
Off the bat, Makita are great saws - there is badge snobbery with them, because Makita is a power tool brand... but they own Dolmar - who are right up there in terms of Chainsaws. More importantly, Dolmar outsell Stihl in Germany and the saw regarded widely as one of the best ever, is the Dolmar 115i (35 years in production says it all!)
This would do you fine, IMO
Parts wouldn't be too much of an issue - they are very reliable saws. But parts can be gotten from any Makita dealer, and plenty online stores too if you felt upto doing repairs yourself.
All I know of Echos is they are gaining a hell of a lot of fans in the forestry - mostly from guys sick of the Huskys electronics. Never a bad word said about them on Arbtalk

The Makita will be a cheaper to buy, but is a couple cc smaller.
In honesty, for the size and work - you could go for any brand of saw and should be perfectly happy.
The Husky 'budget' brands McCulluch and Partner are both very good for their prices - and don't have autotune etc...
As an aside, I've just bought a cheap Chinese 'clone' top handle... it probably won't last long term, but I'm blown away with how good it is for £74 delivered.
This isn`t funny - someone could just take this as a serious suggestion, and I for one would not like to think it was me that made such a flippant comment.
We’ve got an Echo 62cc. Does about a hundred hours a year with it. No parts needed in 6 years! What is a reasonable mid-size saw then that isn't husky or Stihl?? I've heard of Echo but are parts supplies easy to get?
