Just gonna get a shorter bar sometime, also hope to get the husky running again as have 3 different bars for that

I have 4 Huskys , but I stihl think everybody should have a MS170 - I'm going to do a 1/4" pitch conversion when the current bar is worn out.

Ms260 or 026 is the saw you want, the forestry commission sends these out with guys for weeks. Bomb proof saw I’ve 4 of this model and they’re ace and easy to fix. I’ve 038 026 046 044 and an 066 in many parts at the moment I like older saws. I do covert the husky 353 though as they’re a professional saw not a home gamer jobby. If you want shut of yours let me know

don’t run aspen or be drawn in by that rubbish either. The 500i with intelicarb is a load of shite as they don’t like differing weather climates and fuel. Once they’re tuned to one fuel they don’t like the change to aspen etc…

Husqvarna may be listening , that we don't want autotune by releasing the 585 but unfortunately there's nothing (UK) between the 585 and the 455.

Take your 026 and 260 - reliability of the 261 has been compromised by plastic cage bearings.

The Makita Corporation announced on October 30 2020 their intention to cease production of petrol powered, engine products from March 31 2022.

In an official statement the company said, "In the field of outdoor power equipment, Makita is dedicated to supplying a broad range of engine products such as brushcutters and chainsaws. However, in response to the heightened awareness of global environmental issues and increasing needs for highly convenient, cordless products, Makita has recently been enhancing development, production, and sales of cordless products that are environment-friendly and will gain popularity.

"Makita now plans to focus management resources on development, production, and sales of cordless products while leveraging its motor, and battery charging/discharging technologies, and accelerate the departure from engine products and the application of cordless solutions to power tools and outdoor power equipment.

"Accordingly, Makita will discontinue the production of engine products at the entire group level."

years ago when we had pit silage and no shear grab we used to cut silage blocks with a chainsaw. when our elderly stilh packed up the dealer sold us an 036, said it would do the job fine. well it didn't, the thing just died (18" bar). the dealer took it back no bother and we got an 046 instead. that was a different kettle of fish. kept us fit.

personally id take a 346xp over a ms260 every time. the 550xp is awesome but potentially not as long lasting

Only rubbish here is your opinion..

It's a fact that regular petrol produces vastly larger amounts of noxious and harmful fumes than alkylate does. Maybe you are one of those who doesn't get a headache and/or irritated eyes from being around a 2 stroke engine running regular petrol but that doesn't mean the fumes are not affecting you.

Add the fact that alkylate is pure petrol which means really long shelf life and never any problems with fuel gunking up and there really is no reason for anyone not to spend the extra 20% or so for alkylate!

We've had seven 346XPG's over the years and they really are the perfect all-round saw IMO.
The first generation 550 had some problems but I think the new Mark.II version 550 is a really worthy successor to the 346, though it is heavier so it might not be quite as perfect of an all-rounder..

I’ve just brought a Milwaukee battery saw and it is superb. I would rather use it than our small petrol saws anyday .
not saying they are bad, but spend an hour on 560xp, then spend an hour on a milwaukee battery saw, then look at the difference in the pile of logs from each. there is no battery saw even half as fast.
