Snap ,,put an 8 tooth drive on mine ,,doesnt half spin the chain quicker
The 365 in my photo (post 61) has an 8 tooth rim and a 15" usable (64DL) bar - ideal for quartering those 36" rings.

When new it was running very rich - now the H jet is set over 13k it pulls so much better.

We used them for a while - or at least agreed to try them after Doug Bennet kept on at me....and then it was dolmars that turned up.
I found them a bit clunky and unergonomic -if that's a word.

Never really took to em....back to husky soon enough.
agricultural ? :)

i like the solid feel and he cuts nicely under hes own weight , power to weight ratio suits me anyway,

spot the dilberate mistake :sneaky: it was an Alder :unsure:stick not birch  ,my memory isnt what is used to be :ROFLMAO::oops:

and i cant afford a husky :ROFLMAO:

Saws are seldom used anywhere but the mill, crosscutting.
The boy keeps a smaller pro model which he hedges with a bit. (I like the light weight, but he hides it out of my sight, the little beggar)

nothing wrong with the Makitas/dolmars.... just didn't like them as much

Ive allways been curious about these ported exhausts ,,dont know if they are just an american thing for competition speed cutting or if they just love putting them on for more power ,,think the fuel mix needs tweaking aswell

i have got an old rancher 50 and a 346 XP that have done a lot of work over the years , a nice well lit (heated ) workshop( i wish) for later on winter days fiddling and a few bits would see them both back running probably if it went tp plan, trouble is you can waste a lot of time with playing up small engines

What oil do folks use in the chain bar lub tank?
Get the proper stuff in 500ml bottles, looks much like gear oil but no spec on the bottle and doesn't last long. Can you use any oil used on the farm if you run out?

This is the kind of price I expect to pay.

Only reason you should use proper chain oil is because its mineral base so it degrades easily, where as engine oil doesn't and its a soil pollutant
That's the other choice you have either mineral based (oil) or biodegradable. But the real reason to use chain oil instead of engine oil the clue is in the name/description "non fling". When you pour it you'll realise as its v stringy so it will actually stay on the chain and be taken all the way round the bar. Tbh for a light user any oil is better than none but if not using proper chain oil you'd probably want to adjust oiler to use a lot more.
