What’s the best petrol chainsaw capable of running a 20” bar, and any Black Friday deals out there? Got a husqvarna 353 atm but it’s seen better days 😏 nice size saw to use all day, have 15” and 20” bar for it, husky or stihl not really after the cheap n cheerful brands

Shame you can't get the 460 in the UK

Makita 6100 is 61cc and will run a small mount Husky bar
The Makita Corporation announced on October 30 2020 their intention to cease production of petrol powered, engine products from March 31 2022.

In an official statement the company said, "In the field of outdoor power equipment, Makita is dedicated to supplying a broad range of engine products such as brushcutters and chainsaws. However, in response to the heightened awareness of global environmental issues and increasing needs for highly convenient, cordless products, Makita has recently been enhancing development, production, and sales of cordless products that are environment-friendly and will gain popularity.

"Makita now plans to focus management resources on development, production, and sales of cordless products while leveraging its motor, and battery charging/discharging technologies, and accelerate the departure from engine products and the application of cordless solutions to power tools and outdoor power equipment.

"Accordingly, Makita will discontinue the production of engine products at the entire group level."

I know you said you don't want the cheap and cheerful ones, but I've been using a Hyundai 20" 62cc one for a couple of years now, just for general farm work, and I can't fault it so far. Starts well, plenty of power, chain that came with it wasn't the best but a new one from newsawchains.co.uk was only a few quid.

Currently available on a special deal at £106+vat, which is a steal IMO, I was happy paying £125+vat.

I suppose the ultimate small mount would be a 362xp with a 75cc top end 🤔

£106 and a three year warranty, struggle to see how you can go wrong at that.
I just bought one and already have plenty of chainsaws. :D

I’ve run a ms391 with a 20inch bar for years, always a ‘go to’ saw for me. Super reliable, powerful yet not too heavy. Really capable saw. A husky will rev harder, but I’ve got a shed full of stihls ranging from the smallest to animals like the 076 and 880 and I wouldn’t buy another brand personally.
