Chalk Floor for cattle shed

I am based in Northern Ireland and most of our cattle shed floors are either slatted or concrete. I am looking for a solid floor shed as oppose to slats but I see a lot of sheds in the UK are chalk floors. Is this a good job? Any particular grade or source of chalk recommended and of course cost? cheers

I would prefer concrete or even sand. Any sort of stone that can get in the muck is seriously bad news for the spreader man. I have tried rolled chalk but never again. Tines always lift a few stones mucking out and it ends up in the spreader. Lucky not to break tractor window or a bed chain.
For me compacted sand is next best option to concrete . We sit on sand here anyway.

Worked on chalk floored barns and sheds many times. When dunging out it is no issue, they can often get solid and quite smooth over time, so the muck just comes away clean with a fork or grab. Often tractor tyres don't leave much of a mark. Small lumps of chalk in the dung are no bother. They are often very soft and will break down in frost even. Driving over them sometimes grinds them to powder.
