Challenger pulled out of Europe

Just up your street Clive fit the colour scheme. Seriously though interesting to see how a fendt crawler and resprayed sprayer will be received personally and we don't run either I feel it is actually devaluing the brand all the time as opposed to adding to it but perhaps I'm being unfair.

Makes sence to add a challenger painted green to the fendt brand , when did you see a challenger wheeled tractor working in europe ? There is not much to the challenger brand in all honesty.
However that article elludes to fendt developing there own twin tracked machine , that in terms of cost saving is madness .
The reason Agco are withdrawing challenger from the EU is to save money , to allow one of there brands to develop a machine to compete with one of there own brands would seem crazy . And considering the fendt would have to bear the development costs etc for such a limited number of sales its going to be fendt price plus 50%

I would like to think and suspect that the fendt machine will be 98% challenger with some fendt tweaks just to put the fendt stamp on it .

So basically they are going to just take away the Challenger brand (to save on marketing / admin etc) and launch mildly tweaked versions (which I bet will be 98% styling) in fendt colours. Bit like CNH back in 90s deciding not to continue blue and brown versions of their tractors.

You have to also consider that AGCO do not "own" the challenger brand, the brand is used under license from Caterpillar INC, that includes the name, colour etc. So everytime they sell one a cheque will wing its way back to Cat, where as Fendt is an owned and recognised brand out side of the USA, so, from a business perspective it may have short term pain, but long term gain for AGCO.
