Chamber for drains

Old drain chamber is a nasty disaster. Presume I just dig the whole thing out, put a concrete base in, brick up to the surface and put a lid on it?

Three 4" drains in, and into a 12" culvert. Thought about 4 foot square would be big enough. Sump? Concrete type? Brick type? Or pay someone who knows how to do it?

I have cast mine, bit awkward making the shuttering but folded weldmash cage as reinforcing. You can cast the bottom in the same our too but you have to fill the centre with concrete blocks to stop it floating out as you poke the wet concrete.

A section of big twin wall culvert pipe ,,easy enough to cut the entry and exit points ,,dig the hole bigger and back fill with concrete ,,cast a 6inch thick lid with a 600mm sq cast chamber lid ,,I made one for my landlord long time ago for a brick pit where the mains water pipes split in different directions

Currently laying fresh concrete in part of yard and wanting to bury a chamber and cast grid on top to take away surface water. Are these plastic ones with collars and then put concrete around and on top strong enough to withstand occasional heavy traffic such as 14t trailer full of maize? Or would brick chamber be better?

We've done blocks, old barrels and concrete rings with a biscuit on top. Any I do now will be precast rings. The time savings are worth the outlay.

900mm deep ring, concrete biscuit to go on top, d600(I think) rated man hole cover and a bag of quick setting cement to bed it on was £270 delivered in Jan I think.

How do you put the pipes through the concrete ring. Is it just a case of knock a hole in and make good with mortar after. I want to make a catch pit so was thinking of doing something similar.

The one we had done when building shed the digger man got a plastic junction peice at bottom for 4 pipes. Bit of ready mix then ring on top.

Does anybody make a manifold base to go under a 900 diameter chamber ring, save a lot of time flaunching the pipe entries and exits if so, that is where the work is.

Yes our digger man got a 4 way plastic bit to go under ring. Not sure where it came from though.
Ring was then placed on blocks and bottom concreted in.
Like this but 4 way

They actually look reasonably sensible money imo.

So you used this little one inside a big concrete ring, did you just hold the ring clear of the pipes then run concrete under it?
I think we set the ring on blocks placed between pipes then shoveled in some fairly dry concrete.
Will try and get a pic of it tomorrow.
