What is the best way to change one of the pipes that run inside the boom on a jcb 531-70 loadall . Does the boom need to come out or can it be done in situ and is it better to buy a jcb pipe or have one made up.

Do it in situ, don’t pull the burst one out unless you’ve attached either the new pipe or some rope to it so you’ve a way of getting new one in.
Think there’s pipe grip at the back, just slightly out of reach which is a real tit to get at.
have made up a small tool when we didn’t know size of pipe and had to remove it to get length. Weld washer onto pipe fitting and attach to pipe end. Then pullthin rope thru when remove pipe. Then attach new pipe and pull it in.

tape the pipe ends or theyll fill with shyte when you pull new one in.

it’s a messy manky job.
