Changing make of tractor a person sells

A person sells JD for a number of years then changes to different company selling fendt
Does he turn up at farm saying
JD are no good?
Perhaps this happens all the time with machinery, feedstuff
etc
I am referring to guy with unusual surname who is managing director at RVW Pugh new depot at Newport

There's a few round here have been on the merry go round of jobs/brands . As above some are better than others at their job but the lippy ones have had to take some stick when they change to the lesser brand that they used to run down at every opportunity :ROFLMAO:

When I was looking to buy a new plough some 8 years ago now, the salesman from Riverlea Crymych, slagged off Vogel Noot ploughs no end, trying to get me to buy an Overum. The irony is by today, Overum are sold as New Holland, and Riverlea are selling Vogel Noot ploughs painted green badged as Amazone.. wonder does he still run them down....

Rule no 1 in selling or close to rule 1 “don’t sell your own product by running down the competition, because one day you may end up selling it”!!

looking at a forager a few years ago and 1 company slated the other manufacturer like no tomorrow. The rival dealer said what they thought was best on their machine/backup and never once slated the other manufacturer that they knew we were in talks with, even though I’d known both salesman on a personal level for years before they were salesman, the one who never bad mouthed got the deal and is now working very high up for his old “rival”

Got one local to us. Started as a salesman for a ford dealer, everything they didn't sell was rubbish. They went bust. Set up on his own as a renault dealer and everything tractor wise and machines that every one else sold was rubbish, especially Claas which was the lowest of the low. Claas buy renault and offer him to be a Claas dealer and he jumped at the chance and now very busy. I wouldn't trust his opinion on a fecking wheelbarrow

They sell what they are paid to sell. I remember asking a BMW salesman would you sell Skoda for 5 grand more per year pay, he thought for a minute and replied, no but for 10 grand a year I would.

A tractor salesman told me they were getting a new area rep but he had to get so many weeks training, saleman replied it can't take that long to teach them how to lie. 😜

It’s a fine line for salespeople though there is nothing wrong with knowing where the weaknesses are with the rival machine and pointing out where there machine is better it shows to the customer that they have done there homework and know what they are speaking about where that line is crossed will be different for different customers so it’s up to salesperson to know there customer I reckon. for me I like to know all the good and bad points when I buy a machine
