We have a 530 which is standard spec and a 550 which is stepless. The 530 is around 150 hp very good turning circle. The 550 is 165hp the turning circle isn't so good but it does have 650 540 tyres neither have loaders. I don't know how they would handle a wagon I've never had anything to do with them so don't know what they entail. The 550 handles a Fusion very well and a 3m cultivator drill. Good cab and very comfy.

How about a Kubota such as a 7152 ? Kubota loaders well proven and the M7 series tractors are chalk and cheese as compared to their other ranges.Could pick one up at the right money too.
Nice tractor but I’ve heard of two that burnt out fully and won’t have been very many sold. Local one was only a few hundred hours old

N134 Direct bells and whistles bought at 1400 hours and 2 year old with balance of 4000 hour/4 year warranty on it. Put a quicke Q5M on, plumbed straight into the mid mount valves and works of the armrest joystick.

Would I go back to a loader tractor with a fixed ratio gearbox instead of the vario? Would I go back to a tractor without the integrated armrest joystick?

You'd need to pay me an awful lot of money ! 🤣

Better than puma strength and performance in a package the size of a maxxum 👍
You should take a look at deutz fahr, they are better in every way. Well, until about two years ago for some reason.

Basically the first two numbers are the ones that tell you the hp (13 for 130, 15 for 150 etc) without boost, the last one tells you the chassis model, 4 being the newest still (but N5 and T5 is coming soon). T/N series got good with the 4 series.

I've always found the 4 pot Deeres a bit gutless.
The 6125 was a bit useless but the 6130 seems alot better

Wouldn’t go DF personally unless the deal is very very keen.
Claas, Kubota, JD, MF, NH, DF, Case would be my order considering I know the dealer reputation/backups of them all and given your location..

Never heard of those issues and quite a few have been sold in our area of the country. We have 3 varios with no problems ,one has now done nearly 2500 hours.Early days,I know.

Did valtra get better or deutz worse?
Valtra got better. Series 4 got a brand new spacious comfortable cab.

Deutz series 6 has become much larger than it's predecessors, yet still has the same compact cab designed in the '90s. Deutz engines still far more economical than everything but the latest CNH offerings, hitch lift capacity still higher than anything else (except valtra), new gearbox very smooth and one of the simplest and most intuitive to program.

There's also not many used Deutz TTV varios for sale compared to valtra. This was a driving factor for changing brand, along with the Finnish machine possessing engineering strength of design, durability, and build comparable to Deutz.

It could be worse @Gerbert , I could have decided to go with something that is nice to sit in, but is designed to wear out, look shabby after a few thousand hours, has filter bypass when the oil is cold to accelerate wear, has literally the worst front loader design in the market, and costs more to run than even the thirsty sisu, just like those things that you like to drive 👍😝🤣
