Changing my Puma. For 140 hp with Loader recommendations!

As title says. Its time to change out to fresher machine and would like to get a tractor with a loader.

My puma is my front line tractor doing anything from trailer work through to primary and seconday cultivation and grass seeding. So don't want a big lump of a machine but would like to try one with a loader to reduce travellling for my manitou..

So what are my options. I genuinely have no clue. Cannot afford new but something about 2 years old would suffice.

I would really appreciate your suggestions/ advice on both loader and tractor options..
TIA

If you want something that’ll do everything Valtra N4 I don’t like our NH T6s anymore this is so much nicer

Loader comes off in a minute Happily sits at over 50k all day and the cab is a nice place to be

And for a loader I prefer the Trima or quickie options

To be honest a 2 year old would still be very expensive, better to pay over say 5 years for new instead of 3 for 2nd hand for example. At least then you know where you are with regards to reliability warranty etc.

Just bought and got a Valtra G 135 with loader.
Have spent the day sussing out the gearbox settings, a few more to go. Apparently I can get it work like a vario on the foot pedal which would be handy for feeding cattle with mixer might have to get a reminder from dealer.
Was pleasantly surprised at price to change, and terms upto 4 years.

What he said ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️

N134 Direct bells and whistles bought at 1400 hours and 2 year old with balance of 4000 hour/4 year warranty on it. Put a quicke Q5M on, plumbed straight into the mid mount valves and works of the armrest joystick.

Would I go back to a loader tractor with a fixed ratio gearbox instead of the vario? Would I go back to a tractor without the integrated armrest joystick?

You'd need to pay me an awful lot of money ! 🤣

Better than puma strength and performance in a package the size of a maxxum 👍

Mines the normal gear box but just leave it in Auto when doing loader work and my hand never leaves the loader joystick it’s surprising just how smooth it is!

Thankyou..looks like valtra fans are out in force! Never set foot in a valtra. What do the numbers 134 in N134 mean.134hp? I suspect our puma has been chipped as the power reserves when on the europrofi wagon are immense..

i shall track down my Valtra dealer tomorrow.
Aye, you're lucky because the greatest valtra fan hasn't turned up yet 🙄

I could tag him, but I'm not a sadistic bàstard 🤣

The numbers on valtra are pre boost hp. The 134 boosts to 145hp. It also shares the bigger 4.9l engine block with the 154e and 174 (200hp with boost) so you can happily remap them 😉

If your looking at Valtra go either N or T in my opinion. The new one G has a Chinese engine and or gearbox and although I am sure Agco will have put a lot of effort into quality control in my opinion knowingly buying Chinese is not really on, where there is an option we should try and support our more “local” manufacturing bases. Buying Chinese knowingly sends the wrong message to these multi national corporations.

sorry just my bigoted two pennies worth!
Having said all that Iwould have bought a Valtra N had circumstances been different, they are a lovely tractor.

N. T will be a numb loader tractor I would think if it's got to do some yard work

With Riverlea literally on your doorstep for back up,I’d be looking at a Claas Arion 540.
Compact 4 cylinder turbo but still putting out decent horse power and nimble with a loader.
Think @stevedave runs one and it does everything from combination drilling to running a fusion baler etc.

Man enough for my forage wagon? Riverlea are great but always seem to be bows under with work!

Basically the first two numbers are the ones that tell you the hp (13 for 130, 15 for 150 etc) without boost, the last one tells you the chassis model, 4 being the newest still (but N5 and T5 is coming soon). T/N series got good with the 4 series.

What about a jd 130r or a 6140m?
I've always found the 4 pot Deeres a bit gutless.
