Changing water supplier

While you're at it, see if you can find an honest estate agent, a reliable bank, an insurance company that doesn't fleece you for being loyal and a builder who turns up every day until the job is done....................no idea which water co you're with, but don't move to Castle Water, a bigger bunch of incompetent money grabbing a-holes would be hard to find. But hey its the water industry, I'm sure someone has managed it!

Yes if I used a lot I would but now almost retired and don't use much. Everflow are totally incompetant...they owe me £500 and keep telling me that the finance dept have dealt with it (3 weeks ago) but 'it will take 5 working days to reach your account'. I wish it took 5 working days for my payment to reach them:mad:

....a subject that I have been waiting for someone to start.

I saw on a different thread a picture of a water bill from affinity water, who supply London and the home counties, their price per m3 £1.08.

Water plus who supply us £1.89 m3.
How can there be such a difference?

Affinity water cannot supply me.............. why?

After a bit of research I still cannot find another supplier...

By the way WaterPlus is almost the worst utility I have had the misfortune to speak to. (Scottish power are top of the list)

I have been having a long term discussion with WaterPlus since late last year regarding the sewerage charges being levied on the farm. Th issue is that the supply is for 4 properties, plus the farm buildings, they started to charge sewage at 100% being discharged to the sewer, as opposed to one property to the sewer. *

I finally managed to find a person who was helpful and is willing to own the problem ( I hope). This was achieved purely by starting an official complaint, which allows me to bypass "customer service" and their useless scripts!!

I was speaking with one of the latter last week before I got put through to the Complaints team. and she very genuinely explained why my complaint was taking some time as they had, " been receiving a lot of complaints and they did not have enough staff to handle them"... I am afraid I just burst out laughing!!!

*Hopefully, this will be resolved once Severn Trent do their bit... although the deadline for a meeting with them is Friday, and I have sweet FA from them so far!! I also have to fit a water meter into the property with a discharge, so that usage can be monitored for 12 month. I have agreed a sensible regime of meter reading (by myself) after I have fitted the meter. Apparantly, STW/WaterPlus do not inspect said meter, nor does it need to fulfill any regulations.... Barmy!!;)

Anyone managed to change suppliers yet? We were with affinity for business who were satisfactory but they have been bought out by castle water and their first bill is full of estimates and billing us for water up to October which we may not use! If there is a straightforward supplier even if they are more expensive they would get all the business, just don't want automated estimated bills for water we haven't used yet!

Castle water insisted on estimating my bill, so I sent them a "reading" of my own on a regular basis, and had 18 months worth of free water. They have now started reading the meter! Not free any more but accurate.

Castle water are shocking.

we have a main meter which supplies us and 2 neighbours. They occasionally read this, or the sub meters but never at the same time so the bills are all estimated.

Their system also can’t cope with the well known complexities of having 3 meters on a bill. It’s clearly impossible for a computer to subtract the 2 subs of the main so everyone has an idea. Instead there are 2 accounts which we can’t see both of so it’s got complex.

ADC gone up from 2.2 to 8.4m3, searchingly the farm in earnest for a wet spot now
