Channel in new concrete

Location

Going to be laying a strip of concrete need to put a channel down one side (100ft) for water to run down into drains, done this before by scoping concrete out and floating the bottom of the channel with piece of pipe! Is there a easier way? Thanks

Easier way would be to set an eco drain up before you pour the concrete, cheaper way would be your way!! We tried to form a half moon channel on the front of a slab here aswell, gave up in the end as it was not tidy enough!!

What about a precast channel?

Channels are the only way anything with a grid will just block up. I would pour the whole slab first apart from the side with the channel. Then pour the channel strip a foot or so wider than the channel each side so you can then make a channel mould/jig and drag it along the shuttering just make sure the mix is wet enough.

What is the best for a channel at clamp entrance? Drop a steel in at laying 4inch x 4inch or something? It will be constantly driven over so it can't be rocking the handlers when loading like a sleeping policeman or a huge drive over channel. Thanks

Just thinking about this, I’ve just purchased a belle easy screed, I reckon you could make a channel shaped form for it?

I'll have a Google what they are, thinking a square chanel would be easier to clean out fast with a cut down spade compared to a round one. Main thing for me is speed to clean if needed and not feeling it when driving over

Just had a Google, it's what I call a power or vibrating screen. Something to sink and then use the belle to go over the top I was thinking

yes, 6 wide 2 deep. You can feel it, but it's not bad at all. Depends how big your tyres are. Obviously not ideal for scrapeing.

Think Id rather 4 deep 4 wide if it would take the flow just for smooth driving. Might need to make concrete slab deeper for strength in that section
