From what I can see at the moment its only the eu that are proposing doing such a thing
Ain't that the truth? You can understand them doing it without consulting us first, fair enough what with us being a free and independent state once again, after all we wouldn't consult with them on policy.

But you'd have thought it might have occurred to them that the ROI would have an opinion on the matter. I bet the phonelines between Dublin and Brussels were a trifle warm this evening!

Sounds like your poll is redundant as BoJo is letting the message leak out that he'll work with the EU and other Countries to help

Maybe magnanimous but probably more because he wants the UK press to do their Rottweiler worst without challenging it or being attributable to any quotes that may come back to bite him.

The EU have scored a massive own goal and set back their reputation at least a generation. Truly terrible. I read it may have been Barnier that rang Van der Leyen to backtrack. I still find it incredulous that she and the EU would be associated with Article 16 or anything else that could endanger the Good Friday Agreement. Mind blowing.

Gove similarly was at his most obsequious at getting the smug message out too

It should be celebrated that we had Kate Bingham with the skills, contacts and drive to place the UK so far forward with an intelligent vaccine procurement programme

And although Kate may have been able to say 'Yes' and was in effect the 'Del Monte Man' the real thanks should go to this lady - Prof Sarah Gilbert. Last March/April she I heard her on radio say her team would have a vaccine available by autumn - she just asked government to get the manufacturing capacity in place. This woman should be elevated to the House of Lords.

Quite right that the UK should help out as best it can after all this is a matter of life and death and the eu are bound to get themselves in to a little trouble from time to time given that they are a third wanabe country these days
