Chat

Had a friend message this afternoon asking if he could come see me for a chat, usually he's real chatty and nothing gets him down so knew something was up,was pretty busy but I said pop round,he has a suckler herd and has just had his first TB reactor in 30 years and doesn't know how to cope with it,seeing a grown man close to tears was hard for me to take but we had a talk and he went on back to work, just had a text from him now saying he feels 100 times better after our chat and there's worse things in the world that happen...just goes to show however big and brave we all think we are a good old chat and the odd tear is nothing to be ashamed of

I feel that TB is one of the worst problems of all. Once you have it you never know when your going to be clear if at all, and you know that in reality the government are doing nothing to help.

Good on you for making time to talk to your friend, Im sure its appreciated.

Well done, always good to make time for others when something may be up.

Nope they shot her on farm yesterday, think he's bottled it up for a few days before speaking to me..so may have been 10 days from today that she was due but obviously more when he last spoke to them

Very often it's a cumulative thing,I'm sure we've all been there, where something happens which on it's own wouldn't really upset us becomes a serious downer because it comes on top of lots of other stuff.Talking to someone who can listen and give some good advice if it's asked for is very important and beneficial.Good that he sought a chat and good that you could help him..

Personally I think it's disgusting that they would shoot an animal that close to calving, and then you hear of abattoirs sending letters out to farmers warning them about culling cows fairly heavy in calf.
What else are you going to do with a diseased animal ? No point keeping her a couple of weeks to spread to another few
