Hi all,
just wondering if anyone has any experience of a Chaviot 2000L self propelled sprayer.
Pros, cons, things to look out for etc.
As chaviot do not exist anymore and they have a 300tdi engine in them, where would the spray parts come from if I had any issues?
Thanks

I've been driving mine for 25 years, what would you like to know?

300tdi is fine, change the timing belt every few seasons for reliability. Not overpowered going up a steep bank full of fert, but if the the pump is tweaked it will go anywhere.
First ones had RDS rate control, later ones were Raven.
Manual gearbox was recommended for contractors for higher road speed.
Automatic box is a 3 speed Chrysler Torqueflight unit, parts and service available from the likes of 'Automatic Choice' etc.
I've seen quite a few with strengthening welded to the chassis, behind the fuel and hydraulic tanks on either side.
Oil cooling is by a Bowman fluid to fluid cooler, the cores corrode but they're easily replaced.
2000L spray capacity, clean wash tank adds 80 to 100L, fuel tank is about 80L and lasts for about 14+ hours of hard work, it sips fuel.
Weighs just over 3 tonnes empty, slightly more on row crops, and despite driving them in all conditions and it only being 2wd you cant get them stuck.

And it's for sale if you're wondering, along with a 2nd one that I have for spares.
