Well, 3 people that I know of who were stupid enough to go have come down with it today, guess with 5-14 days time period they'll be the first of many. They were quite happy to be going to pubs etc this week by all accounts, so will be interesting to see who else locally succumbs. Why are some people so stupid. Hell there's always next year.

Have they actually been tested and confirmed with the virus??

2 have been tested and confirmed and the other is self isolating at home by all accounts not having been tested.
Blimey, I’m only 15 miles away from you guys here in Cheltenham! Trouble is this virus is already everywhere! Mr Barnier and the Prince Albert of Monaco have tested positive so it’s taking no prisoners. To be blunt the only way to stamp on this hard is for the county to lockdown 100% and all stay at home. I know this can’t be done in reality unless you put the Army on the streets which rather defeats the object of the exercise.

You will NOT defeat it with a lockdown, all you will do is delay very high infection rates but the problem comes when you lift a full on lockdown and one person is still infected and starts spreading it around again, what do you do then??

And any lockdown would have to be at least 4 months at least, by then there will be no businesses/ jobs left so then what happens??

Any lockdown would have to be until a vaccine is ready which is at least 12/18 months away!

And then they will prob only vaccinate the over 70's/ people with ill health so everyone else may still get it at some point so a full 100% lockdown is a complete and utter waste of time!

So only 2 actually have the virus so you cannot state that 3 people have it.

By just saying 3 have it when only 2 are confirmed means that you are claiming infection rates are 33% higher than they actually are!

Either way it sounds like its scare mongering fake news..

I suspect none of them have been tested but are 100% sure they have the virus like thousands of people on SM sites are also claiming yet none of them have been tested either!

Hardly anyone knows someone that has been tested and has actually got the virus which actually shows just how low the infection rates really are and that the hysteria being made up over this virus and the controls/ lockdown that are being implemented have nothing to do with saving peoples life's!

They are two completely separate sets of friends, the pair that were tested live near Eastbourne, and the one self isolating lives near Cirencester.
I am not claiming anything, believe it or dont, I dont really care.

Why were they tested if they were not admitted to Hospital??

Just doesn't add up!

No

That is the reality of a long term full on lockdown of most people!

You really need to stop and think what a full on lockdown 24/7 for 3/4 months at least will actually be and what it will entail.

It doesn't mean that most people carry on like normal but have to be home by 10 pm at night.

And the experts have stated that a full on lockdown to work will have to be enforced to have any effect until a vaccine is ready and they don't expect that until 12/18 months at least.

Yes they might vaccinate everyone but then why will they do that? if this is just a virus when they don't do it with the normal flu vaccine even thou upto 14,000 people a year die in the UK from normal flu.

Yeh, you may well be right. The only sure fire way is to let it run its course and minimise whatever we can. The virus has probably been here since December. The way it has gone global just goes to show how mobile modern man is these days. 50/60 years ago it wouldn’t have travelled so far so fast I don’t believe.

Interesting and a bit spooky to see this thread. Was on the phone half an hour ago talking to a friend who is a retired teacher. He lives locally and has another home at Coverack where he was calling from. He told me this evening that his brother has Coronavirus ......... caught they think at the Cheltenham Festival ?
Wife been on the phone to her sister this evening who tells her that they are preparing a hangar at RNAS Culdrose for an emergency morgue. Scary times ??
