I care. if I can reduce costs in any way without reducing efficacy im all for it even if I have a bit more work £ 350 /ipc is better in my pocket, bit like melting out of spec fert, my time spent messing around is a much cheaper cost than trying to earn the difference in profit so I can pay the bills if you see what I mean
You obviously have a point, generally I would agree but for me it isn't worth the faff.

I agree. Each to their own. I have more profitable things to do with my time than spending hours saving £350/year but it is right to question old habits.
ok when we start applying it i will work out how much time I spend on faffing and report back ,reckon it wont be more than a couple of hours including office time working application rate out the biggest time will be pre mixing but when im paying for my ski lift pass at end of month I will feel less pain ,ho ho

Your price for Prosaro = £148.50 for 125:125 g a.i. prothio + Tebucon

My price Folicur 275 per 5L = £226.95 for 275g a.i
Tebucur per 5L = £39.50 per 5 L for 250g a.i

So 5L Prosaro equivalent to 0.454 can Proline + 0.5 can Teburcur = £103.16 + 19.75 = £122.91

Thats a saving of £25.59 for every can of Prosaro you buy. You got a real good independent agronomist :rolleyes:

Thanks Static & An Gof, very helpful indeed and a conversation shall be had...

I am presuming neither of you have concerns regarding the formulation or efficiency of generics? Do you use them for all actives wherever possible?

I have no worries about generics but be aware that you won't be getting some of the adjuvants that help the product e.g. Hallmark has microcapsules for slower release & a longer period of coverage, Bravo contains the WeatherStik that enables good coverage and rainfastness.

As long as the main distributors sell them I've yet to have a problem with any. I would be wary of anything not sold via the main distributors, by word of mouth or by post. Rotam's direct delivery system is the exception - their generics are fine.

I have no problem with recognised generics; @Brisel has explained it very well.
Does your agronomist really have a problem with generics? Interesting that in your list of products he chose to quote you for both Bravo and generic CTL.

PS

Generic CTL was £39 before Xmas (y)

Cherokee 10L - £108
Bravo 10L - £51.50
Generic CTL 10L - £45
Chord 10L - £200
Amistar Opti 10L - £115
Prosaro 5L - £148.50
Tempo/Moddus 1L - £26.50
Fury 1L - £30.80
Spitfire 5L - £95

Thank you for posting those. I was wondering when suppliers were going to start giving prices.

Chord is a distributor product I think. Like Tracker but with differing levels of the same ingredients. Which one please? PM if you'd rather not name & shame in public.
