I can also buy Galera equivalent more cheaply than FMP. I can buy Centurion Max generic more cheaply and branded Liberator more cheaply than FMP. With the exception of Pincer for a short time, I have always been able to buy more cheaply than FMP. So it's still worth shopping around yet!

To be fair you should be able to buy cheaper .

Bought recently at £2.10/l.

39p / L more than you could have bought it on FMP yesterday ..........

So far some stuff had been very competitive on there and some stuff not quite so but even that depends on where you have been buying form in the past, for some the prices are revolutionary, things are cheaper in the east and for larger farms with a shop around attitude than they are for many others

To be fair it’s very early days for FMP after just 1 (late) autumn selling ag chems and a big market with lots of “politics” to change, I pretty much guarantee we can get anything at buying group prices now, not all listed so call if you can’t see something you want call or email for prices

Not really got many spring products on yet, vendors are uncertain re prices and in some case uncertain re supply this early in the season - a lot more will be being added over the next few weeks told

Prices go up and down on there as well to reflect supply and time in season vs the more traditional set season price we are all more used to, you might find gallera cheaper next week for example !

No doubt FMP is a huge improvement for those who were getting shafted before. Glyphosate has also gone up recently. Last lot before this order was around £1.80/l IIRC. I continue to watch with interest and will buy when the numbers swing the right way.

It would be very interesting to have a FMP chemical price tracker.

A bit like CamelCamelCamel for Amazon so you can see how prices have changed over time, not just today’s price.

CTL market is certainly interesting this spring, Some was sourced for a FMP buyer at £5.30 this week which I thought wasn't maybe the sharpest of prices but buyer wanted it as concerned re supply, the vendor then put price up to £5.40 later that day so maybe the buyer was right !

I'm told there will be plenty later in the season but that will be too late for early applications so I think we are gong to see high / rising prices early season and then softening later as supply catches up maybe ?

anyone bought or been quoted recently ?

I bought some in mid Dec, and then again in mid Jan. Both prices similar levels to this (low 50s). Normally my chem prices are pretty sharp, but I felt these could have been better. That said, neither will be paid for until May so there's value in that.

That said, I'd rather have the product on farm at that rate and know I can get supply, rather than get caught out an end up forking out bigger money later, or risk hobsons choice about dodgy product, or even not be able to get it. CTL will get used, and isn't a huge cost to carry so better to have the security.

I bought our farm requirement in Nov at £3.70 - ever wish you had filled a shed at a price !!!!

I did hear one of the buying groups had limited supply at £4.80 a couple of weeks back but expect that's long gone now, I don't think anyone is quoting lower than mid-high 5's and have heard some quotes that started with a 7 !!

We can get more at £5.40 for FMP customers but its not listed as a product as supply is limited, you have to call us or email for that product

I remember you saying a few weeks back. Hence my comment a few posts back about having a FMP chemical graph tracker.....showing the historical price of the product.

Rightly or wrongly many farmers judge whether to sell grain on the price today compared to where it has been and what it's doing.

its a good idea but a load of work for someone and it would only track FMP prices as others are less keen to publish them ! ;)

One day it'll happen...if CamelCamelCamel can do it with Amazon's whole product catalogue. (y)

...and who minds if it's only FMP prices...that's rather the point as they should reflect the true "live" market (as you said happened with Pincer etc.) which has a knock on effect into the wider market.

I agree, all this and more will happen one day, Ag is just a little behind the curve !

Glyphosate is back on Farm Marketplace - £47 per 20L - minimum order set at 16 for the moment. Prices do seem to be fluctuating a lot at the moment.

https://www.marketplace.farm/inputs/pesticides/

We have also added Chlormequat, Legara and Defy recently.

If there is anything you want that Isn't on FM - then we have set this form up for Agronomists to ask us about what one of their farms need. So either use this or phone us. Prices changing everyday though, so only ask when you are going to order as we can't reserve prices. Does mean you can also order over the phone if you want to as well on 01543 728813.
