Chemical Price Tracker

Cherokee pre Xmas was £11.27/ litre. No savings had there, but it did guarantee supply if politics messed up(y)

I will check but I’m sure we ordered Cherokee at around 10.90/litre in December for delivery anytime now and then payment 28 days later.

The biggest issue with FMP is payment because it assumes everybody is a one man band outfit. It’s alienating lots of bigger outfits because like here we get the recommendation which I order and implement job done. Accounting is done separately by our accounts office on this unit. This is overseen by the farm owners who sign everything off. No way would they agree to giving staff cards for purchases and no way are they going to sign onto online banking to buy off FMP. Our accounts does a payment run once a month and they wouldn’t agree to a DD being setup for this. The owners want product supplied, invoice sent and then once it’s confirmed everything is all present and correct then payment is made. Last year we spent about half million on chemicals this way so everybody we deal with offers at least 28 days payment terms. Some are actually 90 days and even these are price checked ensuring it’s the cheapest source of supply which it always is from our list of suppliers.

That’s a better price than I was offered, but I am a one man band and farm on a smaller scale. I did use FMP for the first time in the winter but only for some products. Their prices were similar but not always better than another supplier I source from.
For me this thread helps to ensure prices are as reasonable as can be and that I’m not being totally shafted. FMP for me is just another source of supply if I choose to use it. It is much harder nowadays to compare active ingredient prices though, with such an array of varying formulations.

Aviator looks very expensive of top of my head would have to check others

But you can’t expect the service for free

Prices look good for service to me. Best I was quoted for Aviator was £165 supply only.

You need to check more carefully @Clive the prices @lloyd has are as good as or better than Farm Marketplace and he is also getting service (y)

We can’t list all products in FMP - you need to fill out quote me for many products

I’m not near my office but I’m sure I paid a lot less for aviator last time we bought

But if serviced as I said not bad, agronomy isn’t free !

I just looked up Aviator and CTL on FMP to cross check and it would appear that considering Lloyd is on a service supply agreement he is buying better than FMP. But maybe you have better prices behind the ones advertised front of house for those who fill in a quote request.

Best I had was 165.5 for Aviator and 54.5 for Ctl (multistar). Quote

Any prices for Serpent SDHI , never used it before .

That sounds like a distributor pet product.

6 quotes 12/3/19.
Aviator prices in the range of £165 to £175 but what did surprise me was Ascara was also available at £165, but that ranged to £177.98.

One quote Ascara was cheaper than Aviator.

As I have said earlier I do not dwell on why one firm quotes what they do.

I just keep them on the list as next time they may be the cheapest.
