decided I'm not going to say where from any more though as now one else seems to want to ! Only going to share via Farm Compare when we make it live with others that are also prepared to share price AND supplier

You are denying a company the chance to sell their produce to your fellow farmers!

or maybe i'm just demonstrating how pointless prices are without knowing where to get them ....... and that maybe that "secret" price that some have been told not to share with others isn't always as good as they think it might be

Farm compare will launch with the big update we have coming and I will happily share on there with those that also share so anyone who contributes can and will benefit

what I posted are genuine prices I can buy at BTW

Assuming you can get them of course. Just because a distributor sold product at a certain price, it doesn't mean it's available to other customers.

I would be surprised if I was anywhere near your prices as you are probably asking for quotes on considerably more acres than myself.
I am surprised that the Clayton tardis is not less money than the Adexar though as librax generally is. I know it’s been covered before but how do I ask for a quote on farm marketplace as Librax is not listed there?

I believe they are Clives genuine quotes and very glad he is willing to share them.
Personally I have not priced any of those products so I cannot comment or add my price.

What will farm compare will add?
I am still going to get quotes which are aimed at me in my location on the day they quote.
If one company quotes you £290 and me £300 is that any help?
I am sure they will have many reasons for the difference if I question this rather than knock the £10 off

Cheaper than farm marketplace :scratchhead::wtf:

I don’t buy all my ag Chem’s from farm marketplace - they are competitive on some things and not on others

I shop around !

The ctl today was from farm marketplace - had several other quotes but that was best

Of course I can get them and those products would be a available to anyone who wanted them All prices are for product I could have delivered here by the weekend - I will be ordering some tomorrow for flag spray just waiting for another quote to come in yet

Farm compare will give you a weekly update of prices and suppliers so you will know each week where the best deals for each product you need is

To get those updates though you will have to contribute (anonymously) and what it adds is the suppliers names which are so often absent from this thread !

You can also use TFF “quote me”. To put requirement out to several suppliers, that’s getting a major update right now as well !

Qty doesn’t make a massive difference - delivery is cheap

As long as qty isn’t really small or location really remote then it shouldn’t have massive effect

If you want quotes from farm marketplace pm
@Chris F email [email protected] or use the TFF Quote me form (which sends requests to several suppliers)

Or you could phone them - number on the site

I think you misinterpret my first sentence. It more helpfully might have read “assuming others are able to purchase that product at that price”.

Agrii may supply Adexar to one farmer for a certain price (directly or indirectly) yet a different depot elsewhere in the country may not be willing to supply at the same price. All assumptions of course, I have no idea how the trade works.

If another farmer called up Agrii today knowing I paid £8.99 a litre for Alto Elite, and £22 a litre for Amistar are they really able to demand (and achieve) the same price just because “Steevo told me he paid this”?

I just query whether the market is able to function like this in a price match manner and will be interested to find out.

And in just one post you sum up most of what is wrong here !

If you go to Tesco tonight will what you pay for your loaf of bread vs what I will pay for mine change depending on whose asking the price ?

If I tell you what I paid for my bread will Tesco refuse to supply me any longer ?

Does Tesco charge a fee to get though the door (buying group) and then charge admin fees on top of the bill for the stuff they won’t tell me the price of until I pay to come through the door and promise to only ever buy exclusively from them ? ......... Oh and NEVER tell anyone else those prices of course

The price is the price and charging different people different prices based on no more than “how big a sucker are they” is not acceptable in my mind and frankly not very clever these days where information flows so freely

Slight variability based on location and qty is understandable but when on a recent thread you have a farmer paying 600% more for his CCC than others .......... well !

So ask your self - why is it all SO secret ? !

someone said to me yesterday.........

“Serviced agronomy is a job where you give your best prices to the people dislike the most and rip of your best mates !”

Loyalty certainly doesn’t pay here that’s for sure !

I'm looking forward to the launch of Farm Compare. It's clear my source isn't the cheapest all the time but I don't get crap products that won't come out of the can & delivery is prompt. That has a value as well as a cost.

I intend to keep my source on their toes & will push more business in the direction of FMP if they don't.
