@Chae1 are they having our pants down?
Apparently there is no glyphosate coming into the country at the moment, I’m not sure why. There have been warnings of shortages for 2 possibly 3 months and prices rapidly rising as stocks get bought up.
Is everywhere else in the world having issues as well does anybody know? Most of the glyphosate salts seem to be manufactured in China are they limiting supplies I wonder?

Apparently US farmers are finding glyphosate had to find as well…

https://www.agribusinessglobal.com/...ing-point-with-continued-high-pricing-levels/
“The glyphosate market has not seen a pricing level this high in the past three years. According to our monitoring, the glyphosate AI EXW price shall reach up to 6.2-6.9 USD/Kg in May. By the end of April, the EXW price of glyphosate 95% AI was around 5.56 USD/Kg. And the lead time of glyphosate from key suppliers in China has been delayed to October 2021.”

“Keeping shoes on his feet is not his only concern when it comes to purchasing goods these days. "Finding chemicals has become nearly impossible since we had a rain here," Wieck said. "There is zero Roundup (glyphosate) or Liberty (glufosinate) to be had."

I bought at £50 for 20l of Barclay 360 g/l a few months ago. Still got some left. Need to put in a safe!
I had a quote for £62/L for a pallet load a couple of months ago and thought it was too expensive, as I already had enough in stock for this autumn and it would have been a full years supply for me, but beginning to wonder if that was a silly decision.
I console myself with the thought that hopefully that pallet has gone to someone who's need was greater than mine. But when I need another 100l in Spring I may well regret that if prices stay where they are now.

And then there is Fert fortunately I did fill my liquid tanks at a reasonable price, but still need some more and goodness only knows when to buy the rest! Do I buy solid now or wait till Spring? I haven't asked since July, but I couldn't get a price for spring delivery at all then!

Grain prices are relatively high right now, but they need to stay at this level or rise to make the investment in growing anything like worthwhile in my opinion. I've got a field that at the moment is due to go a 3rd cereal, but could go into an early entry into AB15 as it is light and has a few grass weeds. It could go either way and that is despite the high prices.
