Am I right in saying I need to upload the invoices if I join? I do the quoting and ordering of Chem but don’t generally see the invoices unless I ask for them or it’s queried by the office

no - uploading invoices is TFF’s farm compare price comparison service, a great way to see how your buying or supplier compares to others or find the best deals https://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?farm-compare/

FarmDeals is just our free to join, no commit buying group, works like traditional buying groups (other than free and no commitment buys !) but at lower cost using tech rather than fancy offices full of expensive staff to keep overheads low www.FarmDeals.Ag

If tech sites are the way forward, you have to wonder what the motivation for Yagro to sell to Frontier was surely,

They ran out of money to pay the staff would be my guess (or getting towards it). They have raised multiple rounds of money in the past and also had government grants. So this is no different, just another source of money to pay the wages.

Lots of sites do money raises all the time. Breedr are doing one now for instance. Hectare have done 4/5 already. Farmdeals will probably do another one as well. Tech and money raises go hand in hand.

To be honest I never quite got my head around how they made any significant money.

Is that your way of saying Farmdeals will be bought out as well? I didn’t realise you had outside investment?

You only need buying out if it isn't self sustaining or if you want out. Hopefully neither of those will be the case ( the latter definitely won't be). As we want to keep it farmer owned as much as possible. Our outside investors are all farmers, but one. Being owned by farmers is not the same as being bought out.

many farming coops were originally owned by the farming members and were taken over

asda was originally started by 4 farmers
