www.marketplace.farm launched this week and achieved what I believe was big first in UK agriculture when it published prices of Chemicals online
The trade reaction behind closed doors has been massive, you cant imagine the politics and pressure being applied to stop this, openness of prices does not suit the established way of supplying thee products with different farms paying different prices through different supply mechanisms
There is an opportunity here for massive change that is in our interest as farmers and also in the interest of many manufacturers who from what I am told are currently dictated to and often controlled by the established distributors
The prices on marketplace are very good and available to all within the current delivery zone, as farmers we really need to support them and establish online buying at good, transparent prices as and option for the way we all want to do business in the future
TFF is trying through this to improve UK farmers, we are making nothing through doing this, I simply want to see the disparity and artificially inflated UK chemical supply market change and become more like it is in other countries
If this fails (which it might) I will make sure every farmer in the UK knows exactly who engineered that downfall and why they did so.
It would be great to see famer power here uniting a bit and voting with their feet to make it clear what they want in the future
