Chicken muck carting and spreading

@CPF knows what he’s on about, he was the main go to man in this area for poultry litter, whether it be supply, delivery or spreading of it. He was spreading poultry litter at 24m when all the others couldn’t (including myself) which is one of the reasons why he/his business was so successful. It’s not my place to go into detail on how he managed it or what kit he was using at the time as he put in a lot of time, effort, research & tinkering to make it happen but I deal with a lot of his old customers & they all say how well he managed to get his spreaders to spread 24m accurately without striping etc.

He’s also into his cars!

Forgive me if a daft question, but can an arable farm ( growing usual wheat and barley ) spread chicken manure throughout the year, or is it limited to certain times, ie pre drilling and or on stubbles?

If you're in an NVZ you have to abide by the winter rules, I believe.
I have put some on as a spring top dressing, so far it's looking ok, I will be doing it again if conditions are right, whether I would dare up my rate again, I'm not sure as only went on at 2.5t/ha

Up to 3 tonnes per acre or 7.4 per ha
That’s what we was putting on for all our customers
Once you build up the fertility in the soil you can start cutting back a little bit . don’t forget it’s slow at releasing all its nutrients .
PS if you like me to put a document up with all the nutrients in chicken Muck
which I did for all my customers.

Cheers, this is turkey muck and have got an analysis, thanks.
We use FYM in the seedbed and or digestate or slurry if available, trying to utilise a bit more of the N in turkey muck my applying to growing crop.
