I hate the word 'ban'. It did away with fix hunting, as well as make mole control a real pain and countless other ridiculous policies.
'Regulate' is much better. Have 30-second candles in them, something like that. Shouting 'ban it!' at everything is too knee jerk.
Agreed , if we banned everything that someone didnt like there would be nothing left , however people need to be responsible for their actions , no wire and compulsory ID on the lanterns would be a start , can you not tie them to cotton ?
I think you could prosecute for arson/criminal damage if you could prove who released it .
