Christmas bubbles

We plan to visit daughter #1 and family on 23rd Dec as that's granddaughter's birthday. Then have daughter #2 and family to Christmas dinner on 25th. That's our three. But in visiting daughter #1 we have 'trapped' her in our bubble so she can't then see hubby's parents over Christmas, for example. She can only see us and daughter #2.
Is that right? We reckon when we visit on 23rd we'll have to stay in the garden.
Or visit on 21st, say?

Effin nuts it is.

Use your discretion - thats what Dominic and Margaret told me when I asked them for advice on compliance with the Tory Coronavirus rules.

As I read it daughter #1 is not planning to see daughter #2? So daughter #2 is not in her bubble, only yours? So daughter #1 can see in laws.

Look it is 3 groups full stop. So family A and parents B, can meet up with family C . Family A, parents B and family C can not meet any others.
Depends where you are in the country. In Northern Ireland if A have already been bubbling with B then they count as one for Christmas so can meet up with C and D.

To stay within the rules you're entirely correct.

We live in a tier 3, my wife's parents in a tier 2, my wife's sister in a tier 2 and my Dad in a tier 3 but a different county to us.

My household can visit my wife's parents and sister between the 23rd & 27th (forming a 3 household bubble), which then means I can't see my Dad (who hasn't seen his Grandaughter since Feb) and also means that my BIL can't see his family.

So to simplify things we are staying at home and not mixing with any of the above 3 households and then hopefully planning a get together between Easter & harvest.

We figure that our daughter won't remember her first Christmas anyway and the risk to her grandparents isn't one we are willing to take.

But the burning question facing the nation concerning Christmas Bubbles - are we still allowed to take part in a festive game of Twister? Is masking up sufficient precaution. I am amazed Professor Whitty or Van Tam have not covered this, although there is time yet before the five days of freedom.

Its those damn students again!!!! ]

I can sense some folk on TFF are struggling with the Christmas Bubbles concept. So, thoughtfully, I post the Xmas Bubble calculations and algarithms care of mumsnet - now they are really getting the matter sorted.
