Putin just trying to show Russians they are under threat from Ukraine/nato
Or he is mad enough to believe the war will escalate & it will come to this, we in the West simply do not take his threats seriously & believe if it did come to all out war we would win easily, true we would win but millions on both sides would not live to see it.
Be very careful what you wish for!

Who is wishing for anything ? IF it escalates then nato would overpower Russia pretty quickly, we have seen how poor their kit is, the only issue is if putin uses chemical or nukes if that happens then civil defence practice wont help . Better to die quickly

So many on here have this fairy tale scenario where we go to all out war with Russia & there's nothing to worry about as the West would win in a flash, ( bad choice of word), recent history would seem to suggest otherwise & it's somewhere no one should contemplate!

16000 fighters coming from syria to help poor old vlad, and some africans whos teeth will chatter so loud the ukranians will shoot them like rats in a barrel. The russian army is a laughing stock.

Ignoring the nuclear threat, I suspect that, should NATO wade in on Ukraine’s behest, the already depleted Russian forces in Ukraine would be obliterated in short order.

However, pushing further into Russia would result in getting bogged down in an unwinable war in a similar fashion to what the Russians are finding in Ukraine now.
It would also show Putin’s Chinese buddies that he was right all along, and the West really is wanting to take over their world, fuelling tensions there.

Whatever happens, Putin’s invasion has recreated resentment and hatred across the region that will last for many generations. Global trading relationships will also have been set back decades.

Agree right up to the point you are unfortunately looking down the barrel of a tank, then it's not so funny.

Last place i would want to be in one of those iron coffins, rather be in the back of a pickup with an anti aircraft gun or a sniper with a sako TRG rifle. Bloody admire the ukrainian men and boys with only a weeks army experience standing up for their country , i hope the end is quick for them if and when it comes.
