Hi,
we’ve just had the density valve and block changed on our rollant 255, when I pressurise the back door the needle goes up to around 4/5oclock on the dial. It then creeps back to 12 o clock. Is this correct? This is just sat in the yard without and grass going into it…
thanks

Does it do it if you pressure it again? Hot oil will cool and contract once in the baler. If it keeps doing it it's either the ram piston seals or your valve block is still faulty

Yes just keeps doing it. Hmm that’s what I thought. Should it stick at 4-5oclock till the bale is putting pressure on the door from inside?

Ours is a 354 but come to think of it I've never seen it go as high as 4/5o clock. About 12 is fine and when it gets up to 3 ish bale is about done

Depending on where the density is set ours seems to go between 3oclock and 5oclock.
think will just have to see how it goes in some grass.

I've just bought the same baler, I tried pressurising the chamber the needle went right round as far as it could then went back to 12 o clock and stayed there until I opened the back door again. I'm going to try unrolling a bale later and put it back through her to try it 👍

If it keeps dropping there's a problem but if it's holding steady at 12 its probably ok.Try pressuring the door again after it's settled at 12. Sometimes the tractor oil is hot, cools in the baler pipework and it contracts, dropping the pressure.
