Claas 697 similar to Renault PTO control linkage problem.

Got a claas 697 ATZ and can’t get it to hold 540e. It pops out when I try to engage it. Wanted to know if this is a common problem. Might just be the linkage or cable that’s worn or stretched. I thought I’d ask on here before wiring in about it. 540 and 1000 work fine.

Also I can’t see how to display pto speed anywhere. If anyone knows if they have some way of displaying the pto speed it would be a big help. Or if not what RPR 540, 540e and 1000 is.

Hold in the wiper stalk for three seconds and display should change to PTO rpm if I'm remembering correctly...

Thats for 620RZ hopefully you are similar

Slow response but thanks for the advice. It is pushing the stalk altho is says nothing on it and isn’t obvious that it moves.
