Our Claas 8400C mowers have eaten up the electronic control module again. ( the one mounted on the front of the mower )
Second unit in 12 months now.
Quite pricey to replace and not repairable as it's a sealed unit.
Are these prone to frequent failure or could we have another potential problem that is spiking it with a power surge?

Probably the cheaper option in the long run.
Sounds like a common fault from what I'm hearing.
Bound to be box loads of them that need to be used up before an upgraded version is available...
A good friend of mine ran 8400's for 25000 acres ish and I can't remember him saying about anything with the electrics going wrong

Mine packed up at about 20000 acres ish on 8400. You can bypass them by doing away with solenoids and the beauty of the older ones are the manual locks. New 9400 reverse drive are fully electric good while it works but will be a big problem when it doesn't.
