Claas cmatic vario

Who makes the vario that goes in a claas or cmatic as they call it? Anyone had anything to do with them are they reliable can't say I've heard of any going wrong and is it the same brand in the 800 axion as the 900s?

So in theory should be every bit as reliable as a deere and deutz that use the zf box not such a fan of the hexashift not a bad box just very costly when it all goes badly wrong

It’s basically a D6. It can be fixed..
It is basically a d6 and yes can be fixed however when the range box fell in bits on mine it ended up costing me the best part of 8k to repair properly mf parts you would think would fit but I had to use genuine claas parts as they are ever slightly different defiantly left a unpleasant taste after that bill so I think vario is the future they seem fairly well sorted as long as no foreign objects interfere with them they are fairly bomb proof

If vario packs in a replacement will be more than 8k but

Don't know for claas, but the zf for my jd6910 costs 17k, that's ONLY the trans. You get upto 5k back for the old trans but that still leaves 2 days of labour at least and oil etc.
