Claas gps

Claas gps I know the older systems were poor but have they got any better? Looking at options for a steer ready Claas 650 it has the dome, steering valve etc all ready and I have paid the Trimble unlock on it as well but just wondering if the Claas kit is worth looking at what would be required, screen obviously but no doubt there is more
Edit it is full cebis screen 2019 year

Sadly not in same league as Agleader, topcon or Trimble fine for creating straight lines and perfectly accurate but lacks the facilities of the others we run the tractors and could have had it for decent money but stuck with Agleader which was a lot dearer but offered way more. Still a serious weakness in there product portfolio.

Thanks Alistair is it the newer s7 and s10 screens you have experience of? Tbh all this screen would be used for is straight and curved a-b lines on this particular tractor

It was the s7 go and have a play with one screen doesn’t work in the same logical manner as an Agleader etc so if you can work one you can fathom another if you get me. This was just different. If it’s for a specific operator and for straightforward jobs then might be worth the gamble if cheap!!

We’ve just changed the main tractor for a 2018 Arion 630. When negotiating the deal it was steer ready so we decided that we will put an S10 screen in it an run the system on the basic EGNOS signal. I have Agleader in the sprayer and no other systems so there was no real need to keep it the same in the tractor as it will only be used for straight A-B and contour type guidance. So far the S10 is doing everything I want it to. It will record field boundaries, guidance lines for each side of a field (with the ability to swap between lines) etc. Like most things, the more you do with it the more you find that it can/can’t do. As it doesn’t have to integrate into an existing system i.e Topcon/Trimble, it seemed simplest and most logical way to go and so far so good.

If you have the above already on the tractor I believe all you should need is the screen, nav controller and associated wiring. I'm at almost exactly the same point as you but with our Lexion combine deciding whether to put Trimble or Claas kit on it.
I used a 2018 Arion 660 on demo 2 years ago drilling with an S10 on EGNOS. Having been used to a Trimble CFX 750 I found it simple and easy to use and quite enjoyed it, If you just want straight and curved A-B lines etc its fine. We use our trimble screen for section control on the sprayer, no idea if the claas would do that or not but we wouldn't need it to so for us just steering would be fine.
Claas did want nearly £1.5k for a simple unlock code and a cable to allow trimble kit to talk to the claas steering valve on the combine which i thought was a bit pricey so still considering options here.
There are 3-4 new Arions sat in Manns yard at Braintree atm, most looked like they had antennas on top so were obviously being specced claas gps ready, so I would imagine there are a few Claas GPS users out there.

Got the class GPS in my 870 axion. The tractor was a dealers demo and was fully kitted out. Decided to keep the GPS with it. I found it simple to use, more so than our Trimble. Was quoted £1755 for section control if we needed it in the future.

We spec most of our tractors as GPS ready at minimum hence the domes on the roof.
