what amount of fuel would they use in a day compared to others, more or less, i know its hard to answer but any class with a deere engine seened sore on it but was some of the best driving tracors and cheap to buy. there is a big renault locally here but seems to be parked up mostly, think its a 826, i think it a waste of what should be a sound old bus,

In my opinion the most likely bit to give trouble on a Claas tractor is the john deere part eg the engine and not deere bashing just saying it as it is same with my multidrive the only bother with it has been the john deere engine as well albeit it was the Bosch injection pump but still a deere sourced component

I had an Renault ares 836 2002 bought it with 5000 hours and sold it 2 later with 7000 hours without giving much trouble, it had a seal go on the pto and a few hydraulic hoses but apart from that it was a good tool, pulled like a train and the best cab suspension on the market.
The main problem I found is finding a fitter or dealer that knows much about them, the claas dealer had little experience and the old Renault ones could not get the parts, this was in 06/07 so things may have changed

What problems haven't i had might be a better question bought it last year after having had a new vario box fitted with only 6000 hours i thought it should be good for a long time the water pump air con pump blew up the air con then stopped working all fixed now it had two speed sensors go at either end of the gearbox causing the tractor to stop dead in the middle of the road very embarrassing to say the gearbox is under warranty i wasn't expecting a bill but still got charged £400 for it won't be getting paid!! Not impressed with it to say the least lovely tractor to drive and use but fast running out of faith in john Deere had new Holland before been no bother at all should have just paid the extra and bought another but wanted a Deere learnt my lesson always liked claas 836 we ran Renaults before new Holland so will see what goes wrong with the Deere next
What problems have you had with the JD? I would have thought the 69 would be the better tractor of the two.

none of the jd engines have been any bother in any claas here

Renault 836 here 7700 (probably nearer 8 now) hours. Was reliably being split once a year over harvest for a couple of years, head gasket then clutch. Electrics always misbehaving.
Having said that it pulls well (weight) and is very comfortable.
Most importantly its cheap, lost about 15 grand in 12 years ( ex demo) and cost another 10 in repairs, not worth selling now...

Quadrishift, same as massey dynashift. So yes I think so, we have a 6490 which has the same back end as the Renault, although it is 9 years newer.

sounds like the majority of you reckon they are bother in one way or another. I don't know what to do for the best now thinking i may be best going back for another tm155 other tm has been extremely reliable

silly question here on renualt tractors, for the linkage just seems to be switch to raise and lower how set the depth ?
dependant on whether at has tx15 controls or tx25,tx15 has a big knob to rotate for setting height the better tx25 has buttons you press to set every thing up height, drop speed, traction control so forth

only ever used a renualt 640 years ago to haul maize,

they look a well built tractor,
was there any saving the company or did they have to sell to claas ?

Depends what you want to do with it, they are really draft tractors and will walk all over a tm155 in that respect. Would not recommend one as an only tractor though, all tractors break down, some just slightly more often than others.

That said we had a tm190 as well and the Renault stayed for a reason.
