Claas Scorpion 6030

We've got a 2016 Claas Scorpion 6030. It's a great machine and I prefer it to anything we've had in the past.

It's started having a few problems though and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar.

I'm not a mechanic at all, I drive the thing but am hopeless at repairs, we have a farm mechanic and also use the dealership we got it from.

Last year it needed a new alternator. Since then it's been sluggish going up hill. Secondly, the hydraulics keep stopping. If you turn the engine off and restart they work for 30 secs then off again.

We had a faulty switch replaced a few weeks back which fixed things but it's gone again this morning.

Any ideas on likely causes of either of the above? I'm getting it looked at again today but it would be good to hear if others have any advice or similar experience.

Cheers

Was the part replacement a genuine replacement?? Is it putting out correct voltage/amps

Hydraulics sorted, minor electrical issue, apparently it's losing power going uphill due to a leak on the gearbox?

Does that sound right?

It's a 2016 and only done 3300 hours, having fitted a new alternator and track rod ends last year i'm going to be pi55ed off if there's going to be another big bill. We bought it 2nd hand from the local dealer 2 years back, I'm wondering how hard I can push them.

It's a cracking machine generally.

Any knowledge out there? I'm clueless on mechanics.

Are you expecting the dealer to pay out on this?

To a large extent hours are irrelevant its a 6 to 7 year old machine so age takes it toll on all seals, hoses and wiring etc
and if your fitting all genuine claas parts with main dealer labour then your money will not go very far at all. There is no reason to fit genuine claas parts to the axles as they are dana spicer and can be bought else where still genuine OEM just with out a claas part number and box.

"Any knowledge out there? I'm clueless on mechanics." This is basically a main dealers wet dream then :X3: :(

Should be a fine machine, and with nothing behind it they should storm up hills- I was able to hit not far off of 40km/h up a slight long incline in one. Make sure it is in 2 wheel steer?
It used to, hence why I'm deflated now. I really like it as a machine and prefer it over other makes we've had. It's definitely in 2 wheel steer.....dies off whatever it's in. You'd never notice if it never left the yard but I need to take it about a mile once a week. I'm hoping to find a 'reasonable ' solution.

I take it it’s speed it looses and not engine revs. I have a 07 plate 6030 but seems to behave itself

I've got an 8000hr Scorpion 6030 and it's still a great machine, I wouldn't worry about longevity if you grease and service it well. There are valves you can and should set up on transmission every now and then. Involves jacking all for wheels off the ground. In essence they are a blissfully simple machine and mine has been faultless more or less.
