Ah sorry that’s crap! Any indication of support from Claas on repairs?

And got a polite f##k off letter.

I guess I'll have plenty to write about in my classic tractor running report at Christmas.

2 gears on top shaft basically s##t themselves.
Best as we can see, gearbox not fully immersed in oil, those 2 gears at the top.
(And yes I do check the oil, fastidiously, especially after the nh Tla problems we had in 2007)
Hi do you mean the hard facing had come off the gears and teeth broke off? Remember back in the day we had 2 renault ceres split the 1st gear pinion and made a right mess! Both tractors did it ploughing in high 1st. Its still pretty much the exact same box in a axos. Havent seen your problem but had a few with dodgy selectors for 3rd/4th gear which if not sorted wrecks the syncros.☹

Hmm Claas marketing at there finest, not a smart move I don’t think! considering it’s now all over a major farming Internet forum and the owner is also a contributor to a highly regarded tractor publication.

Maybe as well my local claas dealer ignored me 18 months ago and I bought a case instead. Lucky escape on my part maybe:scratchhead:

Exactly the same.1st and 6th gear. Basically 1 low range and 1 high range.
Chipped teeth.

Basically having not used them for the repairs was the problem.

Their letter back said private so I'm not going to reprint that. That's not the done thing by me I'm afraid.

All (genuine)parts came from Mann's halesworth. All (genuine)service items, filters /oils from Mann's halesworth.
All work done by ex Mann's mechanic/employee now Indy claas specialist (@Jon I'm sure would vouch for his thoroughness)
Serviced every yr at around 220hr/yr (service interval 500hrs) can something be over serviced.....?

We warm it up before hard work and cool if down after. It pulls an 8t grain trailer, a 3 furrow plough and press, a 3mtr germinator, a markant 65 baler etc etc. All well within its capabilities.

And to be fair, when it's working it's been excellent. Powerful, nippy, not too fuel hungry, comfortable etc. But by God these bills will break us if they keep coming

But the reply was as expected.

Now the wife's radiotherapy is over I can pursue this a little more closely.....

It’s amazing what a little TFF “publicity” can achieve. You have played by the rules. See if attitudes miraculously alter after Easter.

I wouldn't bet on it necessarily. But I wouldn’t bet against it.
