Clamp silage through a bale unroller

Anyone putting clamp silage through a bale unroller? Seen the sheep man from Orkney doing it on YouTube. Looked to work but couldn’t see what machine he was using exactly. Don’t want a feeder wagon and not keen to go round bales. Looking for a simple way of feeding clamp silage either on a handler or tractor

We have one of these, and we defently could if we wanted too. I think if you had any type of chain-type unroller you would be able to feed silage out with it. How much silage you fit in there might be the issues.

Cheers for the reply’s I’ll have a look at the feed box. Already have a teagle tomahawk. They don’t like clamp, too hard on the gear.
tempted with bale unroller as would be handy for feeding out bales in summer

The problem I foresee with a chain and slat bale unroller is the silage getting wrapped under all the chains and causing problems but it may be ok I don’t know enough about them I’ve only seen videos of them working. The Wessex one looks good though and you can have a straw attachment for it (Wessex crossfire?)

how yer going to fill it ???

to feed it out yer want a solid floor with chain drive then a side chain that is on it's own drive so you can move the floor slow and faster side chains

not that had to make realy just getting the drive on floor strong to shift the weight of silage and over riding toggle switch to run side chain motors

used to have a huge feeder years a go like this
usf-12-12m³-universal-feeder
just the front bit is kinda what im thinking

I think it would depend on how you load it & probably would only manage 1 grab full at a time.
I have a hustler unroller really good machine but would say it doesn't like short grass round bales , if the bale falls apart it struggles to keep it rolling, well formed long stem stuff rolls perfectly.
If silage was loaded with a shear grab I think it would turn it , not sure how even it would " unroll" it or would it just turn the block?

If you put a block of silage from a clamp on a bale unroller, it's not going to roll over it's body like a round bale, would the full block not just come of the unroller in one lump.
Have you any links to the youtube video
