Depends on the type/model....
Worn pistons in the pump.
Non return valves worn/not seating in the pump.
Worn/sticking unloader valve or it's not adjusted up enough.
Worn nozzle on the lance.

I’d go buy a new washer.clarke are at the cheaper end of the scale so probably not worth repairing.allways used to buy nilfisk here and when it stopped going I’d normally get another.think you have to pay good money for an industrial type over a hobby type.

They almost all seem to be those ceramic pistoned, alloy bodied things nowadays.
They don't like any grit in the water at all, and wear out fairly quickly.
The old Warwick that I have must be 50yrs old, and only been re valved once..
What to buy next, I've no idea, don't see any of these newer ones lasting the same.

The motor on mine is vaultless, starts first pull, when i bought it i thought it might do 10 years. I probably had it 5 years now, not really heavy use. It was the industrial spec if that counts for anything. As i said it,s still working but not building right up to pressure.
