Had a 660 on demo last week and was quite impressed - in particular from a ride perspective and general feel on the road with almost car like steering. Could be tempted as first quote actually reasonable.
i don’t know anybody running these, so keen to gauge opinion from those that do. It’s likely to do c.1500 hrs pa, of which c80 % would be road work lugging muck, grain and straw and we would probably have a loader fitted.
Key priority would be reliability and we would probably look to hold onto it to c. 10,000 hrs.
Any thoughts much appreciate.

I have a 697 with a loader on, and a 650, both bought secondhand. I find them comfortabld simple all round tractors, ours will run a 5 furrow plough, 14t silage trailer, 3500 gallon tanker, but nimble and easy enough to get in and out of to sit on the straw chopper or keenan. Theydo go wrong, but what machines don't?
I will have another in the future.

697 currently on 9k hours 650 4.5k hours.

We’ve run them and various Renaults prior to that and been happy had odd problem but nothing out the ordinary in my eyes 2nd only to a fastrac for operator comfort. Maintenance package and extended warrantee very good value as well.

Like what?
Brakes mainly, heard of a few giving a lot of bother with them. Neighbour had one that went into limp mode and wouldn't go faster than like 3 to 5kmh because of an error which came up that didn't exist, dashboard had to be replaced. This happened 2 times in 2 years

We had an Arion 630 on demo. Seemed an OK tractor and a comfortable ride. Spoke to a mate who sells tractors and I was told he wouldn't want a second hand class as a trade in as they are impossible to shift on. We didn't buy the tractor in the end even though the dealer was really pushy, we bought a New Holland 6030 which was a much simpler tractor and an an round work horse.

Wish I could find one of these cheap used claas tractors that no one wants🤔

The Renault Cab suspension was really the first across the board std commercial cab suspension system in the 90's and was really good our first ones were purely cab suspension. They then added front axle suspension after that as it became available with the Carraro hydraulic quad link front axles as was fitted to the 6200 series mf's and the 2 complimented each other really well rather than fight with each other. Obviously then it has developed from there. The key is that the 2 systems work together rather than argue as some makes are prone to as has been mentioned on this forum

I’ve had a few Claas tractors over the years none have given major bother, gearbox and brakes would be a weak point but only if abused which would be the same for most brands. I currently have a 2019 Arion 530 cis and I love using it. Comfort is great, and it’s a very capable tractor for its size and power, pulls a 4 furrow reversible, round baler and Amazone Catros disc with ease. It’s a little bit sluggish pulling heavy loads of bales uphill on the road, but that’s my only complaint. Initially I was going to get it remapped but the more hours it’s done the better it’s got and I won’t bother now. One word of advise for any bad back sufferers don’t buy a Claas tractor with the Sears seat it’s not in the same league as a Grammer I had to get the dealer to swap mine and the difference is night and day.

got a 2010 630 and think the cab comfort and ride from front suspension far out performs the 6175r, but if i could click my fingers and turn it into a JD6830 I would.

Think the Massey components let them down, had crossshaft shear in half on a 10ft mounted mower and PTO UJ on a slurry stirrer go and pushed the PTO stubshaft backwards into the tractor backend smashing castings/bearings/shafts, those 2 things come to 7-8k to sort!

New ones might have less Massey in them.

New ones have lots of Massey in them, backend, front axle, gearbox. I reckon some parts are not quite the same though, and I've been told the gearboxes have slight differences. The Massey backends are pretty solid though overall but there's always the odd ones of course

They don’t have any Massey in them, anymore the same that could be argued that MF have Claas in them.

Neighbour has an Arion that’s doing Choo Choo train impressions at the moment. That’s the JD end.
