We run a lot of Claas tractors from Axos through Ares and Arions to Axions they do a lot of hours and to be honest they cause us very few problems. My son has done a harvest season with Claas this year and he’s been shuttling demo kit and headers around initially he was using a Fendt 939 but when they sold that he has been on Axion 870 with cmatic and he says he likes the Claas better.

thought the backend was same as a 64 series Massey and gearbox is a dumbed down dyna 6?
Backend and transmissions are manufactured by GIMA, which is jointly owned by AGCO and CLAAS, and are manufactured to their differing specifications.

GIMA was originally set up by AGCO and Renault and naturally AGCO were not too happy when CLAAS bought out Renault and took on their 50% share of the business. Ended up with them going to court over it, but lost.

Have thought for awhile now the FPT axions could well be abit of a bargain for what they are.

Yes.
Comfort second only to Fastracs, arguably the best engine around (6,7 FPT), ZF Terramatic gearbox which is the ZF version of CNH's CVX, and a long wheelbase.
They are really let down by the weak dealership support due to the low sales number but the tractor itself is on par/better than any other make.

So is the tranny fixable the way the cnh vario is?

Is that type of ZF related to the one in the Deutz? Something tells me it’s a different box? Even if it was a hexashift I’m sure the mechanics with red overalls could spanner at it too.

Yes Deutz also uses the Terramatic, at least in the 7250 which is my only Deutz experience.

It is in the Deutz so it should be, yes.

60k? Are you sure?
That'd be a good price. Meanwhile in Finland 74900€ + vat24% for a 610. :scratchhead: But these "great deals" are usually bs and they'll take 15-25% off of the price advertised.
