Class Q prior approval

Location
Cambridge
I've finally had a response back from our planners to a pre-app advice I asked for last year, and they are fairly happy with my plans for a class Q conversion. Now, I don't know if I'm just being stupid, but I can't see how to proceed from here? I can see how to submit a planning application on the online portal, but there is no mention anywhere of the process for getting prior approval. I'm in South Cambs if that makes any difference. Can anyone help please?

Its an easy process to follow ,but if it means a lot to you to get a favourable decision i would throw plenty at it ,in my experience pre app advice does not count for a great deal and there has been a high court ruling in favour of the planners that has put the brakes on certain types of buildings but don't let this put you off ,i would just advise do a more robust application which will give the LPA less reasons for refusal and if it goes to appeal a good application will stand up better to scrutiny

Thanks for the tag @bobk

To apply for Prior Approval you need to complete the appropriate form and submit with all your plans, evidence etc to your local planning authority. It is not possible to apply for Class Q online as yet. To save you time I've attached the form you need!

That's really helpful, thanks. What about the fee?
Make sure there is nothing in the building that is not agricultural lawn mower, bicycle, plastic patio set and old caravan are all items local planning officer has spotted in various buildings under determination and has ruled they are not solely in agricultural use as they contained domestic items so don't fit the criteria

Finally got the application off today. Are they likely to come and inspect the building? It's behind a locked gate.
Yes make SURE you have nothing in the building that is not agricultural ,some have been turned down for having any of the following in,lawn mower, bicycle, plastic patio chairs and a freezer the LPA love this as they class it as mixed use so the P/D does not apply also is the size of the curtilage correct as i have seen even big firms of land agents fall foul of this one too
