Nope ,lifted slowly and stopped at top, even two of us sitting on arms wouldn't drop it,stuck valve?
Could be.
Are you sure the lift latch did not click in when it got to the top?

It would be the lift latch. You have to pull the hydraulic up/down arms lever back to pressure, and pull the latch out at the same time, and then drop arms down while keeping hold of the latch pulled out.If that makes any sense.Could be.

Did that and maybe dropped 2 inch with a bouncy type action and not drop any moreCould be.

That's vendors problem now, nice as it was had to walk away from potential troubleStuck valve then I'd expect, or possibly air in the system?

Maybe some db experts on here can shed some light on the problem, valve sounds most obvious.oil like cream wouldn't help eitherIt is a shame, the hydraulic system was well ahead of it's time. The filtration of it though left a bit to be desired. The boffins at Meltham should have budgeted for a Farmer's idea of 'clean' oil
The filter underneath! And change the oil!Maybe some db experts on here can shed some light on the problem, valve sounds most obvious.oil like cream wouldn't help either
Said that to chap and the sound of 60 qd for tin of oil didn't go dwn well ,but now whole system needs flushed to get creamy oil outThe filter underneath! And change the oil!
But you would then probably have a proper working tractor, with working hydraulics!Said that to chap and the sound of 60 qd for tin of oil didn't go dwn well ,but now whole system needs flushed to get creamy oil out
Indeed ,that shuda been done before I went to view it. If it was working tractor would have been boughtBut you would then probably have a proper working tractor, with working hydraulics!
Certainly sounds like lift latch.Did that and maybe dropped 2 inch with a bouncy type action and not drop any more
Looks a very good job considering! Some photos taken earlier today...
Dad's 880, DB C Type Plough with Ransomes TCN bodies.
Ploughed 5 acres in all, first time out for this plough after being rescued from the brambles, giving her a bit of a polish up!
