Replaced the linkage pump on a Massey 65, old pump came out with too much trouble ,the bracket for the multi power pump makes it tight , went to fit the new one its wider ,not life threatening.Ram cylinder, the 2 stud hole,s were off .the results of this meant setting the position and draft levers to the proper settings was wrong had the top cover off twice . Watching the control valve arm and the internal levers eventually got things working to please me BUT every single part seems to be the same including massey parts nearly right but not quite . Surely it isnt that difficult to measure accurately.

Roughly ten years ago I wasted at leadt an hour of my life fitting a qtp replacement exhaust manifold on a 4000!!! Had to re drill and file some of the stud holes, grind down the surfaces for it to mate squarely with the cylinder head and only then the nuts could only be tightened with an open end spanner. We had to make it fit as there was a customer on the way to see it! Finally got it fitted, bonnet back on and guess what, the exhaust bought from same company didn't fit!!!!

I fitted a recon clutch from a local firm a few years ago to my 2640.saved about 150 quid but it didn't work and was out of balance .after half a day trying to get it working had to take it out go back get a refund .then fit a genuine one

We got a run of 4cly fe35 bonnets bought 3 on a good deal

Yes was a good deal because they were 2" to short to meet the dash and 2" lesser in height and looked like they been dragged to the docks behind the horse that made them
Oh guess what we were lumbered with them aswell no refund so closed acc with that supplier.
We got them fitting eventually with a few days of welding and beating try welding to this new tin (foil) it really is pathetic nowadays.
Then some parts are really good and really cheap there just isnt a consitant pattern.
There is a list as long as my arm with parts issues that we face on a daily basis but we wont go there....
