Just picked up the latest copy of Classic Tractor and was reading the dyno test part and seen this, surely a "standard" tractor wouldn't leave the factory with 40hp more than what it is meant to?

Not that much surely? I know our T5060 gained about 10hp after 3000hoursPlenty years of hardwork will open them up a bit
Hope none tractors tested were under any warranty,,,,Not that much surely? I know our T5060 gained about 10hp after 3000hours
Jd 6920 everyone seems to chip themYears ago many ford/new Holland 8340 were always over powered. One fitter I used to know said he never saw 1 under 120 hp at the shaft.
Even if hes turned the pump who gives a shite
One I always found strange was loads of tm155s putting out around 200hp with no problems. Then nh released the tm175 and tm190 and they were a disaster. The same Ford / New Holland 6 cylinder PowerStar 7.5 litre engine put out around 200 hp in different models
Is more risky to chip older tractor or a new one thenOne I always found strange was loads of tm155s putting out around 200hp with no problems. Then nh released the tm175 and tm190 and they were a disaster.
That's a very good point. Although from what i understand the later versions are very sorted tractors. Of course by then the reputation of them was in tatters. One I always found strange was loads of tm155s putting out around 200hp with no problems. You would only need to worry if you were paying the repair billsIt was the JCB Fastrac that made me a little concerned with its 50% increase in PTO power!!!
Jd 6520 seem to get chipped know a couple in north wales that had power upped let's sayI know of a 6920 that was kicking out 180hp, 5000 hours at the time, its was untouched, if they have been worked hard all there time then why not?
