Classic tractor

Smcapstick, hopefully we have some variety for you in the January and now February (out in shops today) issues. Last thing we want is for the magazine to become too 'samey' every month and on that note, suggestions for future articles are always welcome and in many cases will be acted upon if viable.

Looking forward to 2017, we would like to do a few more head-to-head comparisons between 2-3 tractors that date from the same period and are the same power (for example, MF 3080 and Ford 7810, Zetor 9540 and Ford 7740, MF 4255 and Same Explorer 90 Top II, you get the idea). If anyone has some good match-ups, let us know. R Day, Editor

Hi @rorsday

Personally I would like to see a 2wd ploughing feature.

Back in the day 2wd tractors like Ford 6600 / 7600, MF590 etc plus 4furr reversible would be the ploughmans choice.

My personal fav, that I woul love to see featured, is Fiat980 2wd.

Also I used to love watching local contractors at work with mixed fleets of 2wd tractors and barrel muck spreaders.

You do a lot of Old School Silage features, how about Old School Muck?

Thanks

Ford TW35 V's NH T7 on heavy cultivation?
We're looking at updating our 10,000hr 05 JCB TM300. It replaced a 95 Matbro tr250, which replaced a 1986 matbro telegram. In early 2005 we had some demos of possible replacements. JD 3800, Manitou pivot steer, terex tr250 and the JCB tm300. I think Sanderson had gone by then, didn't try one anyway. The choice is now much less. Got to be a feature looking at all the buyouts and mergers through the years, comparing spec, power, comfort and price through the years.
